Best Laid Plans

A week ago today we were busy getting ready for our flight to Chicago. We were supposed to leave at the crack of dawn to board a charter plane and were going to arrive by plane really, really early at Midway Airport. Thursday even President Obama landed in Chicago grounding our plane.

Thus, Friday morning we left by car for Indianapolis. We stayed in a hotel (with Hard Rock room service!!) and played at the Indy Children's Museum.






Then on Saturday we made our way to Chicago. Brian had fun playing with his big cousins (and all of their toys)! We got to visit with Patty and her beautiful family. And Brian even behaved during Palm Sunday Mass without his Smurfs! The trip home was easy and relatively quick, so overall a great weekend!

Trains!

Over our Christmas break (yes, I am still catching up from Christmas!!) we went to the Museum Center holiday train display. Brian is completely obsessed with trains right now. In fact, we finally gave up on trying to get him to play with any other toys. We have moved all non-train toys to the playroom downstairs (where sadly he rarely plays). Brian wanted nothing to do with riding the bigger train, but he loved looking at the model trains-especially the Thomas ones! He also loved the huge train table. We weren't as much of a fan as he was...especially when it was time to drag him away from it!


Brian and I also visited the train display at the Beringer Crawford Museum last Friday with Max. It was not quite as big, but still pretty awesome! Brian found the train tables there too. In fact in the pictures you can see the toy trains he swiped and carried around while Mama made him look at the exhibits.
