Disneyland 2016!

On Easter we surprised the kids with a trip to Disneyland!  They really did even "get it" until we arrived in California.  We took a late flight and we were all exhausted and slap happy when we arrived in California.  I think it was maybe midnight our time?  The wheelchair guy who was called to transport mom took pity on us and got one of those golf cart type things.  He was a riot.  He audibly beeped at people as we approached them.  By the time we left him, the kids were also beeping as we approached people!

We stayed at a hotel near the airport that night since it was so late.  Lilah was done.

The kids were super excited to arrive at our Disney hotel the next morning.  The Paradise Pier Hotel was awesome!

We did Downtown Disney the first day and met up with my dear friend Patty who had never even met Lilah!

The next three days we hit the parks hard.  We did Carsland which was completely unbelievable!  It was the Year of the Force at Disneyland so Brian was in Star Wars heaven!  Lilah got to get a make over at the Bippity Boppity Boutique!  We even got to see the light parade and Lilah rode Hyper Space Mountain twice!!   It was completely exhausting but the kids LOVED it and are already asking when we are going back.  I really prefer Disneyland to Disney World because it's smaller and a bit more manageable.  However, as west coast trip was hard on all of us, so I don't see it happening again soon!

She was dancing :)

On our way out of town we stopped by a pier and saw the bay.  Mom really wanted to see the Pacific.  It was a bit of a letdown, but as it turns out we flew wayyy out over the Pacific on our flight back home, so we saw it after all!

Easter 2016

We had a fairly low key Easter this year.  HAHA, just kidding!  We surprised the kids with a trip to Disneyland on Easter this year.  Sadly, the didn't really "get it" until we arrived in California, but it was still fun for us to surprise them.

We did church and brunch before the scavenger hunt surprise.  Disneyland photo dump is next on the blog list :)

First Piano Recital

Brian has been taking piano for almost a year.  He really wanted to try it and has progressed quickly in his learning.  I used to be able to keep up and help him, but these days he pretty much has to practice on his own.  His teacher has been so pleased with his progress, especially given his hearing loss.

He basically had his three recital pieces memorized and he really nailed them.  He had been told there would be applause after each piece, so when no one clapped after his first song, he stood up and clapped for himself.  It was too cute! I only wish I'd had the video recording long enough to catch that moment!   As it turned out, everyone clapped after all three numbers :)

He was so proud of himself and we were so proud of him!

His fan club!

Lilah made her presence known :)  As always.

His certificate :)
