Our New Favorite Pajamas
This sleeper is by far a new favorite in the Borchardt house. Shawn HATED it when I brought it home. But even he admitted this morning that it's pretty darn funny.

Sick of Yuck
As you know, we missed the hearing test on Monday because Brian had a fever. He was diagnosed with a virus. Yesterday, we thought he was on the upswing. We were wrong. Last night was BAD. He was a coughing, cruddy mess. He was restless and miserable.
We went BACK to the doctor today. This seems to be the trend. Brian has croup. Yuck. It's supposed to be bad for 3 nights. So we get two more nights like last night. Yuck.
Brian had to take an oral steroid as treatment. He shot it like a pro! He didn't even want the Sprite chaser they gave him after. Just some vanilla wafers.
He also has some fluid in his right ear, and I have a prescription for an antibiotic just in case it turns into a full blown ear infection. Yuck.
We have not been to school all week. Except for the 1/2 hour yesterday. I managed to be so busy last year when I was staying home. Now I am GOING NUTS missing work! I guess you just get used to whatever your routine is :)
Say some prayers that this YUCK leaves my baby and we can move on from the sickies. I'm SICK of YUCK.

Hearing Test Rescheduled
In case there is anyone out there in blog land waiting on pins and needles, just wanted to let everyone know that Brian's latest hearing test has been rescheduled due to his 100 degree fever that he woke up with. And I'm SO GLAD because when I called to reschedule, the receptionist informed me that our appointment today would not have been with Katherine, our audiologist. I would have thrown one heck of a fit if we had arrived and found out we were seeing the wrong person!!
Anyway, the next test will be on 10/26. And so we wait. Again.
Also, I'm pretty sure the fever is due to teething. I can see Brian's first top molar coming in! He's getting so big. Better safe than sorry though with all of the illness going around.

Brian's Rocking Chair
Remember how I used to take a picture each month of Brian in his glider? When he was very young, I would prop him up and move my hand just in time to snap the picture completely afraid he would slide out of the chair and I would be the worst mother ever. I thought it was hard then.
Recently I decided to get a 15 month old picture of him in the same chair. I realized that I had no idea what hard was all those months ago. Here are some of our attempts at snapping the picture this time around. Note: my hand is in most of these shots, not because I was was afraid he would fall, but because I had to tickle the heck out of him to get him to stay put while Shawn snapped the photos.

One final note...the date on the first pictures is 10/10/08. The pictures just above were taken yesterday, 10/6/09. What a difference a year makes!

Flavor Ice
If you know Shawn, you know he has a great love for Flavor Ice popsicles. All except the red ones. It seems that Brian is following in his foot steps.

15 Month Check Up
We went to see Dr. Price today for Brian's 15 month check up. Brian's new measurements are as follows:
Head: 18 3/4 inches -- 80-90th percentile
Weight: 25 lbs 4 oz -- 60th percentile
Height: 33 1/2 inches -- above 95th percentile
Dr. Price was impressed with Brian's vocabulary -- about 30 words/phrases. He said that 20-50 words is good for an 18 month old, so Brian is well above the norm. He was also pleased that Brian is eating more foods, walking, running, climbing, following multi-step directions, and building with blocks.
He said he's "advanced and huge." But we already knew that, right? ;)
Dr. Price also said that if Brian keeps growing at the rate he has been, he should be 6'3" no problem. My little guy is going to be a tall man someday!
Oh and he said to expect an increase in Brian's want to do things BY HIMSELF. Really? Do we need to increase that? I can do without it thank you very much.
