Summertime Comparison

It's already pushing 90 degrees this last week of May.  The kids couldn't be happier!  Lots of water play!  I just wanted to post these pics to show how much Lilah has grown this past year...

Kindergarten Here We Come

Brian's final preschool promotion ceremony was last Monday night.  He was soooooo excited!  What a difference a year makes.  He proudly marched out with his classmates and sang and danced to every single song.  When it started, it was obvious that he was nervously trying to figure out where we were in the crowd.  When he finally figured out where we all were, he really turned on the charm!  He was somewhat frustrated that the little guy next to him wasn't getting into the songs at all.  It was really cute.

The best song was "Tooty Ta" which is a song we have done with the preschoolers at St. Pats before.  Basically it's a following directions song that gets the kids to hold funny body positions and dance around.  Brian was a pro and worked really hard to get the directions exactly right, which was hysterical!

At the end, he excitedly accepted gifts and posed for pictures.  It was so awesome to celebrate all that he has accomplished the past two years with so many of our loved ones.  Thanks to all who attended!  And thanks to JACK for sending a sweet card.  That may have been Brian's favorite gift of all!
The Chicken Dance

Thumbs up.  Knees together.  Arms in.  A Tooty ta, a tooty, a tooty ta, ta ta!

"Mom, I swear if you don't stop taking pictures and let me eat this dang cookie..."

Weird Kids

My kids do lots of weird things.  Just last night one of the neighbor girls reported to me that Brian was chewing on a leaf stem.  Here is some of the weirdness of late...

Brian likes to use the rocks in our backyard to make sculptures.  He is quite creative and is always looking for a way to make something.

Lilah's newest thing is to pretend she is going to sleep at Mom and Dad's once a weekend.  Here they are dressed and ready to go.

And they both think that their game of "taking a shower" is totally hilarious.

There are other things too.  In the car they think it's hilarious to sing about butts.  He'll start singing "monkey butt, monkey butt" and she jumps right in, "monkey butt, monkey butt."  It's fantastic.

At least I can get a picture like this from time to time...

Derby Day

Saturyda was a special Derby Day for Brian.  He started his horseback riding lessons!  It was a beautiful day to be on a farm.  Brian was soooo excited.  He didn't stop talking the whole way to the barn.

Lilah was a little bit nervous around the horses.  She did pet them a few times though.

Brian didn't blink an eye.  He got to "groom" his horse and then rode for about 30-40 minutes.  He even got to make a Derby hat while on horseback!  The nice instructors let Lilah make one too!
