Sick and Snow

Sick and Snow...that pretty much sums up the last two months.  But thankfully spring has arrived!  It's cold today, but we are getting those glimpses of spring that make me so very happy!

In January I was diagnosed with strep throat.  Upon finishing my antibiotic I got more canker sores on the back of my tongue, soft palate and throat than should ever be humanly possible.  I ate jello for a long time.  Brian was diagnosed with strep a few days after my canker sores calmed down a bit and since my throat was still killing me too, they treated me for strep again.  This led to yet another round of canker sores.  Thankfully, I knew to expect them and treated them much more quickly on round 2.  But I still felt like crap.  So I went back to the doctor where I admitted to having weird sores in weird places.  (I should've copped up this sooner, but frankly I was embarrassed.)  At this point I was diagnosed with a full body staph infection and was given an antibiotic ointment to put up my nose twice a day.  Before I really felt better I woke up one morning with my eye swollen shut.  Sure enough, I had a staph stye.  So I started another round of oral antibiotics.  Which, you guessed it, led to another round of canker sores!  But again, I had a handle on them this time and they never got out of control.

Brian took a NAP while ill.  There are no pictures of me while sick ;)

It's been about 2 weeks now that I have felt all the way better. I am so thankful for that.  I have never been so sick in my life in one winter.  First the flu and then this craziness!

During all of this we got quite a lot of snow.  I was never so sick during the snow days that I had to be in bed all day, so I did make sure to get the kids outside to play in the snow.  It wore me out each time, but was so worth it to see them having fun!
