My, My What a Week

This has been quite the week. Starting with the train ride fundraiser last Saturday, (which I realize is not a part of this week, technically) where we netted $850 for the preschool! What a great day! Aunt Teri watched Brian for most of the day and I missed him!

Sunday was my sweet "sprinkle" at Europa. I have many pictures of both of these to load, but they sit on my camera for now.

Tuesday was school conferences and the first of the three high school graduations I will attend this year. One of my "babies" graduated and I also have pictures of this sitting on the camera. She will attend the Art Institute of Cincinnati on scholarship. She also received a big award from the Art Association of Covington recently and there was a luncheon in her honor. I am so proud!

Wednesday was the our last day of school for the 4/5 year old class. This is my first class at the preschool that I have seen complete both years. It was bittersweet. We spent the day at the park and it was fun watching them have fun. Brian will miss these kids. He knows them all very well.

Yesterday we had an ultra sound and doctor's visit for Lilah in the morning. She is measuring just fine now, so no worries there. She weighs 4 lbs 13 oz currently which is about the 61st percentile. Fluid is good, my blood pressure was good, her heart rate is 141 (which is good) and FINALLY the nurse practitioner that I saw (no doctor this time) commented on my weight gain...only 20 lbs to this point! I was hoping someone would note that!! We didn't get any good "pictures" of Miss Lilah. We saw her spine, her heart and brain...all good things, but she is head down and facing my back, so no cute profile pictures. She's apparently thinking her exit will be vaginal. I have news for her!! Her c-section should be scheduled today! I could have taken the appointment they offered me yesterday...with the one doctor I do not like. I mean, it's not as if I haven't told them over and over and over again that I did not want that doctor. But whatever. I will wait until they call back with a better offer!

Last night was our preschool promotion ceremony. Also bittersweet. Finishing the year gets me a bit closer to the beach and to Lilah's birth, but it's sad to see these kiddos move on. And their parents, some of whom I have become very close to. There were lots of tears, but more smiles than tears. It was a good night.

Today is going to be a rough day. I have a rough task ahead of me at work in about an hour, and then I have to face the Villa graduation where most of my "babies" will be. Dread is the word to describe my next few hours.

Later today I get to attend the ultra sound of my step-godchild and new baby godson who is growing inside of her! I'm hoping all is well with the little man and we can have a happy note to end the day on!

Lots of pictures to post, and more to come today. Hopefully over the weekend I will get them uploaded, cropped and added to the blog!

Ruben, Where Are You?

Brian's new post while Ruben is outside. He would rather be outside too, but it's raining...as usual.

Faith Community Pharmacy Golf Outing

Brian got a chance to be a part of the Faith Community Pharmacy Golf Outing last week! Well, okay, he hit the ball around on the practice green, had a hole sponsor sign in his name and he may have stolen a couple of the balls that were given away as door prizes...but that counts! His Pappy's team won the outing too!

I don't know why I take pictures of this child golfing. I have SOOO many. But good material is good material!

Emotional

May is here. The pregnancy hormones are on overload. Mom had Brian last night and I am supposed to be sleeping in. What am I doing instead?

Making plans for Brian's THIRD birthday party. Really? Is is really going to be THREE?

I couldn't sleep. I missed Brian. Stupid hormones.

Last night before bed, I decided to record this Curious George recordable storybook that Brian's aunt Sarah gave him. (Thank you, Sarah, by the way.) Except it isn't about Curious George. It's kind of an "Oh The Places You'll Go" sort of book with Curious George references and pictures. I took me a few times to make it through the recording through the tears.

So I decided if I was already a mess, I should go ahead and finish up my letter to my first class. The class I taught 4th and 5th grade and is GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL in two weeks. Seriously? How did that happen? So more tears. I had decided to make each of them a CD and record the letter onto the CD for them. I knew that was going t be a tough one and it totally was!

Like I said, I couldn't sleep all that well because I missed Brian. How ridiculous is that? I walk around like a zombie most days because I am exhausted and when I get the chance to SLEEP, I can't do it.

Stupid hormones.

30.5 Weeks

This week we took the 30.5 week belly shot! Time is flying!! I also saw the OB on Wednesday. Miss Lilah is measuring slightly big, so we will have an ultra sound in two weeks. I definitely think I am starting to look like Humpty Dumpty in these pictures! Girls really make your rear end grow!!

Other than the measuring big thing, everything was fine at the appointment. BP good, urine good, her heartbeat is strong and my kick count is great. She is very efficient. One day I marked down 30 seconds for her 10 kicks because she literally popped me 14 times in a row in the same spot in that amount of time. What a mama's girl!

Celebrating Baby Martin

Last Monday Brian and I were honored to attend the adoption hearing of our good friend's baby boy, Martin! It was such a sweet day and we were so glad to be a part of it. Brian actually took an interest in Martin. He was playing with him and SHARING his toys! Hard to believe, I know! Brian and I missed his party this past weekend, but Shawn went and had a good time. We are so lucky to have this sweet little boy in our lives (and his mommy and daddy too)!

Golfing with Pappy

Last weekend (the one between Easter and this past weekend), Brian started crying for his Pappy Saturday afternoon. He wanted to "see Pappy" and "golf with Pappy." So I called Dad and he headed over. Of course, as a typical 2 year old, Brian completely ignored him once he arrived. Brian had moved on to something else. Until Brian found out Pappy was going to take him to his house to play golf! Oh the excitement! Brian ran to gather his club and some golf balls and happily got into the car. Perhaps it is dangerous for a 2 year old to be wielding a (plastic) golf club while his Pappy (or anyone for that matter) is driving, but Pappy thought it was better than the screaming that ensued every time we took it away.

Shawn and I ran some errands, and Brian and Pappy went to play golf. You could probably tell from the whining and screaming about that Brian was pretty sleepy, so no surprise, he fell asleep on the way! Mom found Pappy and Brian asleep on the couch upon arriving home.

Brian woke up happy and the golfing commenced.

Here are some pictures as well as the pictures of Brina playing on the neighbors play set. Golfing an only hold his attention for so long!

Easter, finally!

I am just going to post pictures and captions as that it what most of you care about anyway!! That's what takes the longest and let's face it, I may never get this post up if I try to type much text!

Holy Saturday Easter egg hunt at Nana's. Sorry, Uncle Jon. At least Aunt Teri is in the pictures!

Egg hunt on Easter at Aunt Bibber's. Not perfect weather, but dry enough to play outside (and get really muddy)!

Enjoying treats! Bubbles and HUGE lollies!

Shawn's audition tape for "Jackass."

Two preggos...babies will be born 2-3 weeks apart!

Traditional visit to feed the goats.

Traditional running around like a maniac on the gravel and chasing Munchie the dog.

Relaxing after a long day!

29 Weeks and Counting

On Monday I will be 30 weeks pregnant. That's 10 weeks away from full term!!! Insane. I can't shake the tired, but otherwise I feel okay. Baby Lilah is kicking a lot...I should know as I now have to count kicks every morning and every night as my "homework" from the doctor. I find this silly because I did not have to do it with Brian, but I do what I am supposed to, so I'll keep counting kicks. I passed my glucose test last week! It was an ordeal to get it completed, but it's over now. I liked the doctor I saw last week too, so there is still just one doctor in the practice I would prefer to avoid. In fact this last doctor was totally on board with the c-section! And she was cracking up over Lilah's movement after the glucose test...too much sugar!

This is late, but here is the 28.5 week shot (take at just about 29 weeks actually...late again). I like that Brian keeps finding a way to be a part of these pictures.

And just for comparison, here is what I looked like when I was 28.5 week pregnant with Brian.

For Uncle Jon and His Buddy Nick

OMG am I ever going to catch up on blogging?! Probably not. But here is a short and sweet tidbit for now...

We had a small tea party at my mom's to watch the Royal Wedding last Friday. Barb came and brought Miss Leah. I got this great picture of Brian and Leah in Brian's play kitchen...

And I was reminded of a conversation I walked in on twenty-ish years ago between my brother Jon and his buddy Nick.

They too were playing in a play kitchen (on Nick's back porch). Here is the conversation, as I remember it...

Nick: But, honey, what if the robbers come?!

Jon: Don't worry honey, I'll protect you.

Yep. Enough said.

Posts to come...someday!!

The World Today-What a Weekend!

What a weekend! Brian has no idea what a significant weekend he has lived through these past three days.

It seem silly now that the Royal Wedding received so much coverage this weekend! But it did, and it was significant and historical in it's own right. And beautiful...boy was it beautiful!

Then on Sunday Pope John Paul II the was beatified. What an amazing and beautiful thing for Catholics! He is one step closer to becoming a Saint.

And then this morning, we awoke to the news... we got him! What a significant day. Osama bin Laden is dead and U.S. special forces are responsible.

Wow! What a weekend!
