Brian LOVES football. He even says something that sounds very much like "football" whenever he sees a game on the television. Last Sunday's Bengals game was AMAZING and watching it with Brian made it even more fun. I know you are probably thinking, what could be more fun than watching the Bengals beat the Steelers? Watch and you will see...

One of the Boys
Brian likes doing things with other boys. It's only natural, I guess. He's a mama's boy, but he can also be a man's man at times!
Last weekend we had dinner night out at our friend's club and his little 3 year old nephew was there. Brian had a BLAST chasing Eli and being chased. He kept yelling "E" and then running away in attempt to bait Eli into running after him.

15 Months Old
Brian is 15 months old today! He continues to amaze us with his ever increasing vocabulary. He knows almost all of the words to "Moo, Baa, La, La, La," says "book" "fish," and "no" with consistency. He tells the dog to "sit," which should not be confused with his favorite phrase, "oh shit." Oh yes, he says it. He recognizes virtually everyone he sees on a regular basis and knows the names of a lucky few-mom and dad, of course, Nana, Alex and Jeff (as in Father Jeff). How cool is it that my kid knows a priest that well? He was extremely upset with me on Sunday when I would not allow him to join Father on the altar.
He comprehends lengthy commands like, "Brian, get Ruben a bone, take it to him and leave it in his bed." He actually does this for me every time we leave the house. Too cute! Another beloved command is, "Brian, it's bath time." He actually makes the trek to the bathroom, puts his toys in the tub, TURNS IT ON, and occasionally sticks the temperature tester under the faucet as if he can read what it says!
Yesterday he got his THIRD haircut! This time, however, he actually sat in the booster seat in the barber chair instead of Mommy holding him. He sat so still and behaved so well. Becki couldn't believe how great he did. Such a big boy!
He's walking and climbing like a pro. He continues his quest to empty every drawer and cabinet in the house, but now he will put things back from time to time when encouraged to do so. He LOVES waving bye-bye out the window to anyone who leaves our house!
He still loves to "read" and be read to. He knows his favorites and can tell them apart. Some of these books include songs and he starts humming when he sees the covers! He also does the motions that I always do while reading certain books right along with me now.
Can you tell I'm a proud mama? Sorry! It's true though, he's just a wonderful little boy and I'm very, very proud :)

"I just picked up the poop, put it in the bag, and went inside with the pirate."
The title of this blog is a sentence I actually said yesterday. In my real life.
Let me start at the beginning. Today is Shawn's 30th Birthday. For his big day, Mom decided to hire a signing pirate to serenade him at his office yesterday. After days of thought I decided that I needed to be present for this event. My first thought was that I would be safer across the state line in Kentucky-in case I needed to run. However, I felt it was necessary to get it all on video for posterity sake. After all, Brian won't remember this. Plus I figured if I had it on video, and Shawn did decide to kill me, there would at least be undeniable evidence.
The pirate called me yesterday (as I was rushing home from school) in hopes of finding better directions that Map Quest had offered him. He called the wrong girl! Thus we decided to meet up just off the exit, and he would follow me to Shawn's work. Fast forward to our arrival at Pyramid Controls where I decided it would best to change Brian's diaper before loading him into his parrot costume. Unfortunately I had no idea he had pooped until I heard "plunk, plunk, plunk" down the side of my car. Ew! What's a girl to do? I picked up the poop, put it in the bag, and went inside with the pirate.
Inside. Where Shawn's co-worker Doug, my ally in this, was waiting patiently. The pirate disappeared into the bathroom to make some last minute costume adjustments, while we conspired with Shawn's boss. He decided to go talk to Shawn in his cube so that Shawn would not leave and ruin the surprise.
Once the pirate was ready, we made the trek down the hall to Shawn's cube. The pirate proceeded to embarrass the heck out of Shawn, while about 25 co-workers enjoyed the entertainment. It was fantastic! He had a whole speech prepared about how he wanted Shawn to join the pirate ship. He gave Shawn balloons, a special pirate hat (a Sponge Bob birthday hat), and even got Shawn to join him in song. After they finished the pirate song, we all sang "Happy Birthday." Pictures are below.

A Special TP Run
I just wanted to note for posterity sake that I had to go to the grocery store yesterday largely because we were out of toilet paper. Why you may ask? I will tell you. I had to go on a TP run because my son thinks it's H-Y-S-T-E-R-I-C-A-L to unroll the toilet paper from the roll. Unroll it and shred it beyond the point of being able to re-roll and use it.
To be fair, I bought several other things as well, but the biggest need was toilet paper.
Is this this normal behavior? Will it stop soon? Anyone?

OUT!
OUT! That is the new battle cry in the Borchardt house. And Brian's new favorite word. Whether it's OUT of the high chair, OUT of the car seat or OUT as in OUTside, he says it more and more each day and he becomes more and more insistent about it too.
The kid loves being outside. He could care less that he gets splinters and stubs his little toes. Here are some cute pictures of a recent trip OUT front :)
