Leaving on a Jet Plane...

Over Thanksgiving the kids had the opportunity to experience their first plane ride. We were really lucky to get to ride on a charter plane out of a small airport. This meant we could pull up to the airport about a half hour before the flight! We also did not have to go through crazy security checks, pay extra for baggage, or deal with any of that other craziness that makes flying a hassle. On the way to Chicago there were only 2 other people on the flight. There were 12 total on the trip back. It was great!
Brian told anyone who would listen that he was not going to fly on an airplane the whole week leading up to our trip. I was honestly worried that he was going to outright refuse to board. But he was awesome once we got the airport. He was giddy with excitement! He kept jumping up and down and staring out the window of the airport at the plane.

A little unsure of the loud plane in the background...it was REALLY early!!

The flight was great. Brian watched videos on my laptop and Lilah slept. Both kids liked looking out the window! The pilot even let Brian come up front when we landed so he could see the controls! The flight back was quite turbulent. Brian didn't even notice that Nana was trying very hard not to throw up! Lilah didn't notice either. She was sleeping again!
